Nourish Our Neighbors

At Nourish Our Neighbors, we believe the power of community is undeniable in the Gem City. Through our work we have seen the power of supportive networks within Dayton often be out of reach for our most vulnerable neighbors. We feel obligated to change this. How we structure our neighborhoods is deeply important to us. In order to create a community built on trust and respect, we must meet people where they are at. Our neighbors need services built by them and for them. When we come together to support one another, we can create a stronger, more resilient Gem City that thrives on mutual care and understanding. Nourish Our Neighbors is committed to empowering our community through a mutual aid model of service.

Since 2022, our team has been dedicated to building community and providing services to Dayton’s west side. The allocation of Montgomery county funds leaves the west side vulnerable to poor infrastructure, inadequate housing, food insecurity, and poverty. NON has made it our mission to serve our community members who need it most. What started as 50 hot meals and bottled water has blossomed into a much-needed distribution program ran based on input directly from the communities we serve. Obtaining 501(c)3 status allows us to offer more resources consistently and to rely more on Dayton’s local businesses and organizations in the area.

We are a nonprofit whose mission is to alleviate hardships associated with homelessness and poverty by providing free services and resources to Dayton’s most vulnerable communities.
